Pioneer DCS 363 review2
The DCS 363 home cinema system delivers Doldy Surround Sound ONLY if the source is from the DCS 363 DVD Playback or the USB source. Unfortunately I was ignorant enough to assume that a Home Cinema System would surely be able to transfer the surround sound feed from a sky + box such as feed from Sky sports or Sky Movies (connected via the Scart 2 way cable) to the home system surround speakers. ..As its called a home cinema which is usually design to connect through a satellite box... WRong ! Called Pioneer and they confirmed the my fears. Oh one more thing. Poor speakers. I have tried various configuration options (provided via the DCS 363 set up features) to vary the distance setting between the 2 front and 2 back speakers and also vary the volume Db setting on each speaker.363 !!! Still poor output. I guess you pay for what you get. I get better output from my KDL 40x 2000 LCD speakers. After only 2 nmonths it's being put onto ebay. Anyone know of a Home Cinema System that can pick up surround sound from an external source and feed though it's own Speakers ??

Gooooooooooood!!!4
The main problem with this is that there is no Optical audio connection. Bit strange, because it solves all the silly problems involving this cable and that cable....

It does however, sound very very good. The speakers are very small, but produce some very crisp sound when listening to audio cd's or watching a dvd.

I'm no expert regarding home cinemas and all that lark, but for under £250 this looks sweet and sounds better. it also plays DivX (avi and mpeg) Quite nice for all you internet hound-dogs ;)

Buyer beware2
Somewhat unexpectedly this model will not play surround sound from your Satellite decoder, Digital Terrestrial or Video Cassette Recorder. Although it is capable of decoding Dolby Pro Logic II it will only do so from a DVD/CD source or USB (?!). The exclusion of any digital input is not really the problem as phono stereo inputs usually suffice to connect to other equipment (via adapters where required). I want surround sound every evening, not just days I rent DVD!
