Aled - From the Heart
I only bought this CD because is only cost £5.00. But what a well spend fiver. I bought Aled Jones (released this year) which is wonderful, but this CD has such a variety of music on, pop, classical, Christmas songs. His version of Cat Stevens' Father and Son is just out of this world. To me, a fan of Cat Stevens, Aled's version holds its own very well against the original version.
Aled's voice has matured from an outstanding youngster, who many believed was one of the greatest youngsters ever in the world, to an equally outstanding adult voice. Every note is clear, every word can be heard and the whole is a CD that you want to listen to all the way through and to concentrate on. Aled Jones deserves to become one of the all time greats in music with his great talent, skill and obvious pleasure in singing all types of music.
Aled - with a difference!
If you remember the Aled Jones from his glorious years as a boy treble, then this album will show how he has matured and moved on. A refreshing mix of lighter style songs, which still convey the passion and clarity which he brings to his singing. I heard some new songs and also arrangements of familiar ones. He just sounds as if he is enjoying it all so much!
This is a very pleasant, easy-going, feel good CD.
I really enjoyed this CD because it has a surprising ability to lift your mood. Although one or two of the songs are a little old-fashioned, these are interspersed by some more modern classics which demonstrate a versatility of style and, to my mind, are well performed. I was very surprised at how some of the songs kept going around in my head, particularly "What can you tell me boy" which features a contribution from Aled in his younger days cleverly combined with his present day alta ego.
