Editorial Reviews

CD Description
Second 'comeback' album from the Welsh baritone TV presenter and the follow-up to 'Aled' which was released in 2002. 'Higher' continues along the same lines as its predecessor, mixing classical, sacred hymns, traditional songs and pop tunes. Includes 'Marble Halls' with Julian Lloyd Webber, 'David Of The White Rock' and 'You Raise Me Up', which was originally recorded by new age Irish folk group Secret Garden.

Aled Jones 'Higher' CD (2003)5
High quality as always, Aled has got it right yet again. With the second of Aled's most recent CD's, 'Higher', Aled offers even more than with his first CD. With a good range of material which shows off his 'highly honed' vocal technique, previously borne of his sound musical grounding, Aled takes us on a journey through the brilliance of well known classics such as 'David of the White Rock', to slightly newer material 'San Damiano', all sung with the professional flourish we know we can expect of an artist such as Aled. 'Deep Peace' and 'You Raise me Up' would serve to uplift the soul of the most fervent disbeliever in Christianity, as well as painting a beautiful picture of beautiful skies and landscapes. 'Higher' is an apt title for this CD. Higher than ever, in musicality, higher in supreme variety of music and quality, presentability higher than possible. Above all Aled reaches out within this CD, giving of his own heart to the music, taking listeners on a joyous voyage with a sad ending - sad when the CD has finished playing!

Aled - Higher - Brilliant5
I followed Aled's career when he was a young choir boy and when his voice broke I always hoped that one day he would return to stun us with his mature voice . He has certainly done that. His previous CD was great. This is even better. The way he interprets the songs is wonderful, my favourite tracks are Deep Peace and Raise Me Up. Buy Higher and be inspired.

Aled just gets better and better!5
Having followed Aled's career for nearly 18 years, I can honestly say that this is Aleds best album to date since that famous voice broke many years ago! He's also on tour at the moment with this album and having seen him on 2nd October 2003 at Basingstoke, I can honestly say that he's still got the magic after all these years. Buy this record, you will not be disappointed!
