Manufacturer's Description

Dyson's leading cyclone technology for capturing microscopic dust The Dyson DC23 Stowaway Allergy has high efficiency airways, maximising airflow through the machine to minimize blockages. Patented Dyson Root Cyclone and Core Separator technology ensures the DC23 doesn't clog, it uses powerful centrifugal force to spin the dirt out of the air, so there's no loss of suction The Telescopic Wrap System allows the hose and wand to be compressed, and ensures that the Dyson DC23 Stowaway can be stored away neatly and compactly, with no loose components or wires to get tangled. It is constructed from ABS and polycarbonate which means that as well as being compact, the Dyson DC23 Stowaway is also durable and lightweight. Variable suction means you can reduce suction in order to clean curtains, upholstery or rugs without them sticking to the cleaner. A washable HEPA filter means that the air expelled from the Dyson contains up to 150 times less mould and bacteria than the air you breathe. All models carry the British Allergy Foundation Seal of Approval

Customer Reviews
excellent piece of kit
After reading a few bad reviews on this Dyson I certainly had my concerns on it. People were saying that it was too heavy?? awkward to use?? had a small capacity?? and the best of all the lack of suction??????..... So I went home and put it to the test. I have two different types of carpet in my house, short and long pile and this vacuum cleaner works very well on both. I also have a hardwood floor in my hall which the Dyson also cleans very well. Its a very compact machine and will fit into small cupboards and has good accessories to clean cars, curtains and sofa's etc. This is a good vacuum cleaner and the capacity is the same as any other vacuum cleaner of the same size, if you want a larger capacity then I suggest you buy a larger cleaner. I was toying with buying a Miele which was priced the same but fell for the design of this one..... being a bloke an all! its a good all rounder and does the job it was designed for.
Back to the drawing boards
If you want a beautiful vacuum cleaner to look at, then the Dyson23 is your man. However just forget about it if you are hoping to do some serious cleaning round the house. In fact my 10 year-old Panasonic is doing a much better job! There has been a lot of hype about bagless vacuum cleaners over the years. What is wrong about having a bag? If anything, it's cleaner. Take the bag out and throw it straight into the bin. After having hoovered the bedroom, I gently emptied the cylinder and dust was everywhere. To make matters worse I had to spend a good 10 minutes washing it! In fact I spend more time washing the device than cleaning the bedroom. Needless to say, I am very disappointed with it. Not only it is very expensive, over engineered and the suction power is feeble on carpets. Mine is going back to the manufacturer first thing. If you want a proper vacuum cleaner, forget Dyson and do yourself a favour, buy yourself a Miele.
