excellent piece of kit
After reading a few bad reviews on this Dyson I certainly had my concerns on it. People were saying that it was too heavy?? awkward to use?? had a small capacity?? and the best of all the lack of suction??????..... So I went home and put it to the test. I have two different types of carpet in my house, short and long pile and this vacuum cleaner works very well on both. I also have a hardwood floor in my hall which the Dyson also cleans very well. Its a very compact machine and will fit into small cupboards and has good accessories to clean cars, curtains and sofa's etc. This is a good vacuum cleaner and the capacity is the same as any other vacuum cleaner of the same size, if you want a larger capacity then I suggest you buy a larger cleaner. I was toying with buying a Miele which was priced the same but fell for the design of this one..... being a bloke an all! its a good all rounder and does the job it was designed for.

Top of the class, but room for improvement
I'm delighted with my Dyson and its cleaning power. It's easy to put together and has great suction power.

This is a 4 star product for me because I think there's still room for improvement.

On the up side. Good attachments which store easily. Excellent switching between carpets and wooden floors - dead easy, and the real reason why I bought the model in the first place. The wrap around hose really does wrap around and stays in place - I had visions of the whole thing unswirling and pulling half the other things out of the cupboard with it, but that doesn't happen. The emptying mechanism works well - much better than my previous Dyson, which was an 01, first model (I like to get my gadgets early!) Looks great. Is really compact and neat. Love the purple.

An on/off switch on the extension hose handle would be a big plus. You have to abandon the vacuum somewhere to go back and stand on the off switch, which seems daft.
There's still a huge draft of air out the side of the machine, which stirs up the dust before you have a chance to sweep it up.
It's heavier than I expected, but still easier to cart around than the 01 was. No hoover in my house will ever die from over-work, but I have found myself getting this one out of the cupboard more often than before.

Dyson sucks like nothing else
I just loved my old Dyson DC01 now my new one has arrived it's more compact and sucks so hard it tries to lift the carpet off the floor, oh and it gets up dirt that has been ground into the floor...

IF YOU WANT A DYSON THAT IS GREAT AND SMALL BUY THIS ONE, YOU WON"T REGRET IT
