Good Buy For A Budget Carpet Washer
Shop around to get the best price for this machine.

I did a lot of price comparisons etc and decided to go for this model because of the upholstery tool - glad I made that decision in the end because not only is it fantastic on the upholstery (made my 8 - year old grubby armchair arms come up like new - took a bit of elbow grease) - but it is good for the high-traffic areas of carpet. Because we hadn't had the carpets washed for a couple of years they were dreadful (we've just got a puppy too so it has taken care of accident areas). Don't expect this washer to get your carpets spanking clean on the first pass, but persevere and you'll get good results - this is a budget model after all - if you want miracles you'll be paying 300 - 400 quid for a professional model.

Anyway, I have been on my hands and knees using the uphostery tool over the bad areas, and then used the main machine to go over it again and the results are very good. I started off complying with the instructions but found that if you keep the dispenser button pressed all the time the machine cleans better - get the carpet nice and wet, go over a couple of times and when you run out of fresh solution just suck the dirty water out of the carpet.

It seems to be very economical - I am still on the first bottle of solution that came with the machine (you only need a capful per full tank) and I have now done 3 rooms. Plus I've found that asda sell the bottles for under 3 pounds each - good value.

The machine seems sturdy and robust, good suction and the upholstery tool is easy to fit. It took a while to assemble but I'd had a long day at work so maybe that's just me.

No complaints.

IMPRESSIVE
This is the first carpet cleaner i've ever bought and i must say what an excellent choice. After lots of homework to try to find the right one i opted for this model.You certainly get results i was amazed.you will find the cleaner is very easy to use.Its best not to release too much water use sparingly and just repeat over the really soiled places .I did my bedroom carpet and i kept going over sucking up all the water and i was amazed how dry and clean the carpet became.

I was a little dubious at first as to whether I should buy one of these new fangled uprights. I'm use to putting my weight behind the more classic cylinder type of cleaner and really giving my carpets a good old clean. I wasn't sure if these upright models would do a good job but thought I'd give it a go anyway.

I've been pleasantly surprised at just how good this cleaner is. The water jets penetrate deep into the carpet and the brushes lift the carpet pile. Suction is powerful and my carpets were left only slightly damp but were fit to walk on right away being dry to the touch the very next morning.

This model comes with a upholstery attachment that doubles up as a pre treatment sprayer. The sprayer works just fine as does the attachment which I used on my stairs. Although still very good I did notice the stair carpet was quite damp after cleaning, more so than the floor carpet. I went over it again to try to remove some of the excess moisture but I wasn't able to get any more water to suck up.

Other than that there's no complaints about this machine, I like to clean my carpets two or three times a year so the price of this VAX is about the same as hiring out a cleaner three times. A real bargain
