Product Description

What many visitors expect to find in London - pageantry, history, living tradition - is dramatically at odds with the experience of living here. Yet, guidebooks struggle to reflect this. As publisher of the capital's definitive cultural listings magazine, "Time Out" is uniquely positioned to give you the whole of this bewildering, exhilarating city. You'll of course find terrific coverage of historic London, a city containing six World Heritage Sites, but there are also cultural field reports from all quarters. Sample the cocksure new British cuisine, the bizarre multiart venues of Shoreditch and Soho, or the gorgeous new Haymarket Hotel, perhaps the world's finest boutique hotel. See how the triumphant new Southbank Centre has completed a seamless riverside stroll from foodie fun at Borough Market to the London Eye. You'll even get the most out of hackneyed old Covent Garden, suddenly perking itself up to welcome back the much-missed Transport Museum.

These guides take you underground, under the skin of various cities. Fun and insiderish.

Customer Reviews

Not for Londoners2
Time Out(TO) have been lazy, all the usual tourist spots are here, the layout OK, but all the information is available for free elsewhere including on the visitlondon website, where discount vouchers are available. If I want to know where to eat TO publish other guides. There are no real walking routes that take you away from the expected and the reviews of attractions are at best wishy washy....very disappointing!

A bit disappointing3
WHilst there is goodcoverage of the major items, I was expecting a bit more thought and imagination to go into this guide and indeed for it to reveal some eciting new ideas. I gave this to a charity shop after a month and can't say I've found it terribly useful, despite being a relaative newbie to London myself.
