    NOT BAD...4
If you're after a personal radio for the gym (or something similar) there's really only 2 to choose from- the Sony SRF M10 or the Nike ACT 100. Buy a cheaper, non-digital radio & the reception is generally poor (I've tried several), & the analogue scanning features don't allow for precise tuning. At just bigger than a pack of gum, the Sony is very neat & compact, beating the Nike- which is quite a bit bigger, thicker & a bit heavier too (I think). The Sony is also quite stylish & elegant, which is a bonus, unless you prefer the more sporty looks of the ACT 100. One negative feature of the Sony is its material- plastic, which is easily damaged or scratched- as opposed to the tougher, more robust rubber material of the Nike. As for changing the volume or station, it's pretty easy on the sony thanks to the side-mounted jog-switch (although I tend to leave the controls alone once I'm doing other things). There's also a 'hold' switch to prevent accidental button-pressing during activities, which is a useful feature (the Nike has one also). As for the reception- well, it's okay. Depending on where I am, I usually get a clear signal, although at times (in certain places) I get a little interferance. But even though it's not always crystal-clear, generally it doesn't obstruct my listening too much. On the downside, the Sony doesn't come with a cary-case to protect it from damage. It does come with a belt-clip, but it looks a bit fragile, so I'm too worried I might lose it to make use of it. Apparently the Nike comes with an arm-strap, which might be a better idea (and easier to change stations/volume), although it might be a little uncomfortable during vigorous, sweaty activities (like in a gym). The Sony does have a 'bass-boost', which is another bonus, & the volume is more than loud enough. I don't, however, think much of the headphones' suitability for activities (they're those 'in-ear' types that keep falling out when you move), so you're better of buying some new ones with added support. There's also no in-line remote on the cable (so you don't have to fiddle about to change the settings whilst doing other things), which is a shame (not sure if the nike has one, but I think it does).
Over all I'd recommend the Sony, but the Nike is a fair bit cheaper (almost half the price), so if its reception is equal or better quality (& you don't mind the extra size & sporty design), it might be a reasonable alternative.

had this radio about a year before it was robbed on me but i am buying it again. the sound is woeful out of the earphones but if you buy different ones its amazing. its cute and small pretty tough aswell, prone to scratches but after tearing it apart to draw it for the mechanics for college it went back to together like a breeze. well worth the price you can save up to 15 stations on it,doesnt have autosearch though-thats something they could look at. it is a legend.

Ditto The Times. To come back at the last reviewer..if you just want a small slim very high quality reliable radio then this is it. You can`t really buy better quality and reception. Anything not crystal is that you are in a valley or inteference from somewhere. Normal UK zones are 100% with this radio. Slimline quality small radio doesn`t come any better than this item! It`s great. It`s SONY which invairbaly means easy to sue and with a pleasant user friendliness to the design keeping with the foudner wishes for ease of use of all his products and then to be a joy to use.. And it has the style, quality and ease of use and relaibility you`d expect. Budget be damned. If you want the best, clear , reliable reception and top soudn quality thazt`s portable and relaible here it is.....It is wonderful.. You don`t notice you have it and the sound quality is awesome.
