Customer Reviews

Nice colour pictures but no details2
Haynes have a reputation for comprehensive and reliable technical guides, but this book just doesn't have the content. It's a quick trot through various aspects of eco-houses, with lots of colour pics, but the advice isn't detailed enough to enable sensible decision-making (e.g. on the complex subject of boilers and heating systems), and the how-to instructions are very scanty. I didn't find anything here that isn't in more detail on the Web or my standard DIY tomes.

The Eco-House Manual5
This intelligently written manual encompasses all aspects of living under the threat of global warming. Subjects range from the principles of eco-renovation, choosing construction materials, ways of reducing heat loss, conservation of water, eco-friendly gardening and much more. Every topic is covered in detail and supported with actual photographs. Where web sites are deemed useful reference is made to them. Definitely a "must have" for our era.

Excellent5
This clearly written and well illustrated book contains a mine of practical information on 'green' home improvements. I would recommend anyone carrying out DIY projects to read it first.
