Just plug the USB IntelliPannel into the wall socket, plug in your Laptop into the master socket and the RJ12 cable into the USB port on your laptop computer. Then plug in your accessories into the extra 7 peripheral sockets. The IntelliPannel automatically powers your laptops accessories & peripheral equipment when your laptop is switched on. Then switches them all off (at the wall) for you when you power down your laptop in the normal way. Recommended by the Energy Saving Trust and has received excellent reviews! A fantastic product that works straight out of the box.
As a computer user for business purposes but always looking to minimise costs I was forever complaining to my wife and teenage daughter about leaving their computers on standby along with other countless items around the home. I bought two of these items, one for my wife and one for myself as we both use laptops to see if they could fix the problem of "Standby" hell.

My verdict---------------WOW, what a product.

I have a laptop connected to an external monitor, scanner, laser printer, inkjet printer, two external hard drives, a phone charger and a sat nav charger etc.

I was sceptical that my laptop could control all of these items but I was WRONG.

In fact I only have to close the lid of the laptop which puts it into sleep mode and everything powers off automatically.

This has got to be one of the best products I have ever bought and I'm sure it will save me money. I will definiely be buying more of these for the other rooms in my home.

Easy to use, seems to work.
Quite simple to use. Only time will tell how much it helps my energy bills, quite useful as i use my laptop as a desktop replacement and have lots of peripherals plugged into it.
