Customer Reviews

An essential tool in any revision process!5
Having recently completed my GCSE exams, I now feel as though I have become quite informed as regards the range of GCSE revision guides available to the contemporary student. The worn state of my own copies now gives testimony to the many weeks of frantic fact-seeking which I, along with my peers, undertook some time ago, in an attempt to maximise our chances of experiencing a relatively stress-free exam paper! I must say that, of all of the books I have used, both at home and school, this has proved to be one of the most trustworthy, well-balanced, and, primarily, well presented resource - which, after a long day's tiresome regurgitation of facts, can be a most reassuring attribute indeed.

The author has included a generous compilation of facts, systematically covering each aspect of the GCSE Business Studies courses, which, I feel, equipped me invaluably for the examination paper. (The true value of the work will, of course, only be realised on the fateful Results Day!) Once the student has mastered a section, he is then equipped with a range of "Check Yourself" activities - a series of short questions, not only answered in detail, but also twinned with copious notes to ensure that the exam techniques be fully appreciated. At the end of the chapter, one will also discover a hearty feast of "Exam Practice", with sample answers by previous years' students and explanations as to the downfalls and merits of their responses. I took particular assurance in the fact that the actual mark schemes were also provided here, to give students, and teachers, a helpful insight into the mind of the examiner!

Overall, then, this proved an essential component in my revision for GCSE Business Studies, and one which I would have sorely missed should I have completed the course without it. I would also suggest the title "Letts GCSE Revise Study Guide: Business Studies", by David Floyd, (ISBN 1858054214), which was also very helpful when used in conjunction with the title described above.
