The author has used a wealth of experience in teaching and examining in economics to provide a useful manual for all students of the subject. Ernie Jowsey provides clear, practical help both in preparing material and in writing up the final essay. The book has a section providing advice on how to write essays in the subject of economics, and each essay plan is organised according to the same structure for clarity (Introduction; Main Arguments; Conclusion; Further Reading). A useful book to help you through A-Level economics4
I thought the book would be of limited use but needed something desperately to improve my essay technique. It is much more comprehensive than the essay plans we've been given in class, it helps you to develop your thoughts while giving useful hints of the necessary theory. It became of more use when I got closer to the examination period, being extremely useful in the timed essay practice. Some of the essays that I practiced came up in my exams which meant that I was really well prepared for them. I would recommend this book to anyone who has difficulties in essay writing.

Useful for first-year degree and a-level5
I found this book really useful for both A-Level Economics (got an A!) and for the first year of my degree. It provides essay plans for any type of essay you are likely to get in your exam. Also useful for coursework. Definitely the most useful econ book you could buy!
