Product Description

Change the World for a Fiver is part of the We Are What We Do movement which launched in the UK in September 2004. The aim of We Are What We Do is to inspire us all to use our simple, everyday actions to change the world. If enough of us are willing to make some simple changes to our everyday behaviour then we really will start to change the world for the better! We Are What We Do is an initiative of the East London charity Community Links. If you want to find out more about Community Links, visit their website. David Robinson who founded Community Links came up with the idea for We Are What We Do and he and his team managed to persuade more than 400 people to work for free on projects to launch it. In addition to Change the World for a Fiver (which has already become a major bestseller!), these projects include a website, a touring exhibition, a short film series on Channel 4, a national day of action in which more than 50 companies around the UK took part and more than 10,000 actions were logged on our website and a huge amount of publicity and promotion. And this is just the beginning! The small team that now works on We Are What We Do is planning a whole series of other projects which will ensure that more and more people have the chance to take part. We can't sit back and wait for others to fix the problems we all face - it's time for each and every one of us to think about the ways in which we can make a difference so that together we can change the world. Customer Reviews

Simple and effective!5
I bought this book from a charity shop (less than a fiver in the end!) and I found it jam-packed with excellent ideas for helping the world to be a better, friendlier, cleaner, happier place to live in. Some of the suggestions are so simple I doubt I would have thought of them, that's often how it is when things are staring you in the face. Actions from turning the tap of when brushing your teeth, to giving blood, to simply smiling and smiling back. An excellent book and worht more than just a fiver.

Have fun and shift your attitude4
The website in connection with this book is www.wearewhatwedo.org. Go see.

Simple things that add up to an excellent attitude. :)

The book has amusing drawings, a pack of seeds to plant to grow your own Christmas trees and a bundle of links and suggestions to help you go green gently and with fun distinctly on the agenda. This book is fluffy but it will make you smile. 8/10.

Great ice-breaker!5
This is the kind of book that you cannot wait to tell your friends about. Great dinner party conversation fodder! Most of all, a genuine source of information on ways in which you can make significant changes to the world around you very easily, at very little cost. I can't think of a better book to buy a loved one for Christmas.
