Venice city map
I was very impressed with this laminated map and mini guide, not only is it very detailed, it also contains a very useful map of the waterbus routes.
A superb guidebook in a sturdy plastic binding
Probably the most comprehensive and elegant guide to the city of Venice, with hundreds of photographs and color illustrations to augment the highly readable text (translated from the French by Anthony Roberts). The emphasis is on history, architecture, and art, but you'll also find a large section of practical advice and maps. The durable, flexible plastic cover is another significant plus. If you can afford only one Venice guidebook, this is the one you need. - Durant Imboden, Venice for Visitors, http://govenice.miningco.com
Venice map
This laminated, easy to fold out and back again map was absolutely fantastic. I giggled condescendingly at everyone else I saw with paper maps which didnt have all the street names on, got wet, and would never fold back up the same unless you had an advanced degree in Origami!! We found our way to our hotel without one wrong turning (which is a bit of an achievment in Venice I hear!) and found it so easy to stop and find out where we were during the day. I thought I had lost the map half way through our second day, and was gutted that I was going to have to buy a much more expensive and inferior one (but luckily found it again!) Would definitely recommend it!
