A detailed look at how the BBMF (Battle of Britain Memorial flight)Lancaster PA474 is maintained and flown. The hardback book is in the style of a Haynes vehicle workshop manual.160 pages containing some excellent colour photographs of PA474 in various stages of repair in the hangar at the BBMF and aerial shots from inside and outside of the Lanc.Lots of cutaway drawings and historical photographs. The book is a good resource for the scale modeller, as well as a fitting tribute to the men and women who built ,maintained and flew the Lancaster during the Second World War and to the ongoing work of the BBMF.

My husband is an aviation fanatic. He flys and still collects model aircraft kits. He has also done his fair share of motor repairs. So - this is the perfect gift - a 'car' manual for a famous plane. There is a good bit of the history of the plane intertwined with the great mechanical drawings - as any person with a Haynes car manual will recognise. He has dipped into the book / read some sections in full - and it has lasted into Feb from Xmas. So there ARE some books for the man who seems to have everything!

Extremely informative5
Bought this as a present for my father, he read it in no time at all , he said that it was mind blowingly detailed and accurate.
I have previously bought him the Spitfire manual. Both books are superb and highly recommended !
