DCC - 450 Case: Good But Not Ideal
The dedicated Canon case for the A470 camera (DCC 450) is a more generous fit compared to the snug 'fitted' case for the earlier A460 camera (DCC 400). Annoyingly the velcro fastening lid/flap of the DCC 450 case leaves the top corners of the A470 camera slightly exposed and does not have space for spare batteries. The A470 is slightly wider than the A460 consequently the DCC 400 case is a bit too snug for the A470.

For those that want space for spare batteries the less expensive Samoa DF30 by Samsonite (Hama) is a good option. This is listed as compatible with the A470 and has room at the bottom for two AA batteries (the case is a bit larger than the DCC 450). It is lightly padded but lacks the rigid insert of the DC 450 which helps protect the LCD screen - a piece of card can be inserted if this is concern. The `Trekking' version of the DF30 is more heavily padded, bulkier and weighs more - somewhat excessive for this modest camera; although it does have a Velcro lid as opposed to the zip closure on the Samoa DF30.

Amazon list an inexpensive zipped case by GEM which appears to be somewhat larger than the Samoa DF30 but should therefore have space for batteries.
