Synopsis
The Marvel Comics superhero Daredevil (Ben Affleck), is a man blinded by a radioactive chemical accident as a young boy but left with superhuman senses and agile acrobatic ability. Like his Marvel compatriot Spider-Man, Daredevil attempts to lead a normal life by day as Matt Murdock, a Hell's Kitchen defence attorney. By night Matt becomes Daredevil, a brooding superhero fighting for justice in the dark and squalid New York streets overrun with vermin and criminal injustice. Wearing a red leather suit and mask, Daredevil leaps from high skyscrapers and tracks his enemies with his radar-like vision, punishing those who are guilty but whom he cannot tackle in the courtroom. At the centre of the city's villainous underbelly is Daredevil's nemesis Kingpin (Michael Clarke Duncan) and his psychotic, knife-wielding deputy-assassin Bullseye (Colin Farrell). Daredevil fights their powerful forces alone, until he meets Elektra Natchios (Jennifer Garner of ALIAS fame), a skilled martial artist and sexy superheroine who is after Bullseye and Kingpin for murdering her father. Sparks fly as the two heroes take on the underlords of crime together in this action-packed adventure fantasy that will surely delight fans of SPIDER-MAN, X-MEN, or BATMAN.

Daredevil5
This really is an excellent package of a very entertaining film. The star rating isn't just for the film (which in fairness is probably only 4 stars) but for the DVD package as a whole.

The film itself is good fun. Matt Murdock is a blind lawyer who seeks justice in the courts by day and justice at night through his 4 remaining senses which are heightened to supernatural levels. His endeavours to stop crime result in him getting entangled with the beautiful martial artist Elektra, an assassin named Bullseye (who gets all the best moments) and ultimately the Kingpin of crime himself. This director's cut adds a whole 30 minutes of new/extended scenes which include a funny/tragic subplot about a man who Matt tries to defend in court who he believes is wrongly accused of a murder. This actually adds hugely important information to the whole film and turns it from a 3-star film to a 4-star film. Also, there's a good scene right at the end which shows just what happens to Bullseye.

As well as the director's cut of the film, you also get disc 2 from the theatrical edition, which houses all the worthwhile extra features. Documentaries, outtakes, trailers, music videos, easter eggs, storyboards... you name it, you got it. Also in terms of extras, disc 1 includes a featurette on making the director's cut and a commentary track.

If you're like me and enjoy superhero films, this is definitely one to check out. If you've heard bad things about the film, those are probably about the theatrical cut, and must would agree that this is a significantly different film and definitely an improvement. Also, as one of Fox's definitive editions, it comes in a very attractive steelback case. A great package of a very good film.

Good movie, good edition4
I enjoyed the theatrical version, and so when I was looking to purchase it, went with the reviews suggestion and bought the preferred Director's cut. I wouldn't say in comparison I was blown away, but watching the Director's cut, I felt there was little you would want to remove, and the extra scenes made the film more entertaining. If you're going to buy Daredevil, I would definitely get this as a preference.

Daredevil well worth the purchase5
Marvel films are well renowned for picking the best actors for there films and Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner and Colin Farrell are fantastic actors and make the roles there own. The definitive edition includes the directors cut extended movie, and there are certain points which do add to the film. The price wasn't bad either!!!
