Product Description

We've all done it: glanced casually at the horoscope pages, secretly hoping the stars will forecast our fame and fortune. Yet the zodiac can tell us far more than this, revealing even our most intimate secrets. "Sextrology" is a highly intelligent and enlightening guide to sex and the sexes using a wholly original astrological philosophy. In frank, sophisticated and uninhibited language, the authors profile each gender's zodiac sign and uncover the naked truth behind the make-up of each one. "Sextrology" will help you better comprehend your and others' sexual character, improve your understanding of relationship roles and find out what to expect from the special person in your life. From fantasies to favourite positions, erogenous zones to emotional needs, Starsky and Cox leave no stone unturned in their titillating examination that will once again have people asking, 'what's your sign?'

I loved it5
My bookshelf is groaning under the weight of 1000 astrology books (one of which can probably tell me when the shelf will actually collapse), and this book is its most recent addition. I *loved* it.

I'm a Taurus (Leo Rising), and in most of my astology books, the description of Taurus Women has always sounded nothing like me. That's partly vanity (how would YOU feel if you're constantly being told your sun-sign "eats constantly" and "puts on weight faster than you can say, 'Is another Snickers really a good idea, fatso?'") and partly because they really did sound nothing like me. I comforted myself with reading the universally flattering descriptions of my Rising Sign instead, and telling myself that Mum got my birthday wrong.

Then I read Sextrology. Yes! Thank the Lord! Here is a decription of myself that I can really revel in! Taurus Woman, according to this book, is "the most feminine of all the signs". We are "beautiful, and well-groomed, often spending hours on the ritual of our make-up". We are "incredibly talented" and "make loads of money". Finally!

Even the bad bits of my sign were more accurate in this book. It's really all spot-on. After checking that the book knew its stuff, I then read up on my husband (very enlightening), all my ex-boyfriends, my family, my best friends... Everyone.

It's not really as much about sex as the title suggests. There is a little box at the end of every chapter that tell you hot the sex will be between, say Taurus Woman + Leo Man, or Leo Man + Aquarius Woman (or even Virgo Man + Virgo Man), etc, but there's not loads.

I really recommend it. I also love all the Linda Goodman Books, and "How To Seduce Every Man In The Zodiac" (which *really* works).

great but not quite complete4
This book is primarily fun to read. Their writing style is entertaining. Although the tone could seem somewhat silly, when you actually get into the sign/gender/orientation analysis, it's actually intelligent, creative, rather sophisticated and spookily accurate. There are sub-sections on health and psychological issues, lists of gay and straight 'turn ons' and what you could perhaps call more 'conceptual' information relating to archetypes and keywords.. oh and lists of notable natives. The main body of text for each sign is divided into sections: a generalisation; sign & mind; body & soul; sex & sexuality.. and at the end of each there is a brief but concise table for all the couplings of that sign, gender and sexual orientation.

For all its good points, the accuracy is great, but slightly limited; it's not complete on its own, as it only takes into account the sun signs (which is why lots of pop-astrology e.g. in newspapers and magazines, tend to appear arbitrary and ridiculous) I find supplementing this great book with knowledge of rising signs (put simply - they influence your outer appearance, physically and socially) and moon signs (our internal, secret, emotional world) gets closer to completing the equation, short of analysing your own personal natal chart.

Too Grand A Title - Bog standard, general astrology book1
I purchased this book believing that I would learn more regarding the subject title! I already know a little regarding astrology and was profoundly disappointed in this book.
The book is divided into the 12 sun signs and further separated into gender. The entire book is only based on sun signs which, as most of us know who do possess some astrology knowledge is lightweight stuff indeed. There are no references to Mars, Venus placements and certainly don't expect any education regarding Eros.
If you don't have even basic knowledge regarding sun signs you may enjoy this book: this is really no more than a basic and very general astrology book.
Candidly, for me, it's a complete waste of money if you are seriously interested in sex/astrology and certainly does not go anyway near in approaching the title!
