Maintain your boat - if you are a biochemist!
What a dissapointment this book was. I run an inland cruiser and wanted a book on easy maintenance - every solution to cleaning and stain removal involves getting hold of various chemicals that the majority of us simply don't have access to. It is American written and based and proved to be a complete waste of money, telling me nothing that anyone with an ounce of mechanical knowldge would be interested in
Great, low cost, effective ways to keep most boats in shape.
There are all sorts of excellent tips in this book covering cleaning, protection and prevention against detioration of almost any part of a vessel you care to name, from the engine to the upholstery.
The best part is that the various products used are all freely-available, low-cost natural products such as baking soda - I had no idea you could do so much with it!
This is a great book to have, it's well organised and presented and great value, a worthwhile addition to any boaters library.
Best of Boating's Tips
This book is the best of Sandy's how-to tips for that ran in Boating for the past 5 years, and about 500 more tips that I hadn't read before. A handy compilation that's a must for every boater's workshop bookshelf.
