Video Description
A touching drama, comedy and quirky take on that very first of mid-life crises: the mid-twenties! Trevor is in a predicament with his boyfriend Darrell, who just won't kick his drug habit. Handsome doctor Ephram is just his type, yet he cannot bring himself to leave Darrell behind. Meanwhile catty friends Andie and Jake offer their opinions on the situation, yet they too are at a crossroads in their lives. Relationships are broken, rekindled, and recreated whilst Trevor and those around him come to terms with drastic changes in their lives. Featuring a hilarious turn from actor and musician Jay Brannan ('Shortbus') as Trevor's acid-tongued best friend, 'Holding Trevor' is an uplifting yet at times sobering morality tale.
Synopsis
Torn between his heroin-addict boyfriend Darrell, and Ephram--a handsome and ambitious doctor, Trevor (screenwriter Brent Gorski) finds himself reassessing his life and all that's important to him. Touching, uplifting and often very funny, HOLDING TREVOR is an engaging low-budget film with a big heart.
Customer Reviews
A challenging film with a big heart and JAY BRANNAN!
Looking at some of the other reviews I can understand why 'Holding Trevor' might not be to everyone's tastes, however it deals with issues such as drug abuse, HIV and heartbreak, so if you're looking for something along the lines of 'Another Gay Movie' you wont find it here! That said, there is a good balance of wonderfully uplifting and sexy moments, mostly surrounding Trevor and new boyrfriend Ephram who comes on the scene about twenty minutes into the film. He's the dishy doctor who is the perfect antidote to Trevor's sad predicament (his ex is a junkie). You also have Jay Brannan, a huge plus and great actor, who has all the best and funniest lines. He even strums the occasional touching tune on his guitar. This film has a lot of fans, and it is easy to see why. It never trots the line, and is ultimately bittersweet and more rooted in real life scenarios than most other gay films.
IT'S JAY BRANNAN!
I thought I am going to regret this after seeing the two reviews here but it is not that bad, really. Jay Brannan looks pretty d**n hot too
POOR VERY VERY POOR
Promising storyline ruined by seriously improvised bad acting and bad direction. The trailer was good but this film was so bad and even the ending was predictable. Poor. Avoid.
