Customer Reviews

Fantastic book for adults and YOUNG children!5
I haven't sewn anything for about 18 yrs, and then my skills were not great to say the least, just what we learned at school!

My 8 yr old son and I got interested after being unable to find much Doctor Who stuff for his room . . . Out came the sewing machine from the garage (bought 7 yrs ago and used twice!) And I panicked!

Read the reviews of this book and thought it was worth a go. Both my children now have personalised linen bags which people can't believe I made with my 8 yr old! I also have storage in lovely fabric which we've made for keys etc etc! Whenver I find something doesn't have a home out comes this book!

The illustrations are great and the instructions talk you through step by step in a clear and easy to follow way. The book has a section teaching you everthing about sewing terms and fabric, how to do certain seams, folds and pockets and much more!

My first attempt at the linen bag came out perfectly and I couldn't believe how easy it was, I just took my time following the instructions! Now I can make them without opening the book :-)

There are lots of great projects which will be great for the home and as gifts, and I adapted the seed packet holder to a key holder.

A fantastic book which had given me skills and the confidence to sew anything I want! I just know I need to look in here if I am unsure about anything! Just finished a tote bag which I planned myself using skills this book has taught me.

My little boy has made bags etc etc and feels chuffed to bits he knows various stiches, how to cut fabric etc.

All in all a FANTASTIC book! BUY BUY BUY! You won't regret it.

Sew and Stow4
Some of the ideas were a bit too simple for me, but ideal for a beginner.Plenty of inspiration though and lovely fabrics.Oh how I love fabric.Simple stuff to use and ideas to adapt some of the projects for other uses.

Disappointing1
Despite its colourful cover this book was disappointing inside. There are no colour pictures of the projects and the projects are over simple and are not at all inspiring. Although I may use it at some point in the future it definately wont be top of my crafting list.
