One to keep
Having reached my early forties and never really stuck with a diet/exercise regime, I bought this book because I was impressed with the lack of 'instant solution' hype, and because it looked thorough and well-researched. A variety of exercise regimes are presented, with inspiring photos (the models cover a range of ages, but all look encouragingly fit), with plenty of explanations and alternatives given. For instance, I live in the wilds of Andalucia, without access to a gym or shops to buy fancy equipment, and have been able to follow all the recommed exercises with just a chair, a mat, some tins of beans and a stretchy band. Oh, and it all works. I'm amazed that I've been motivated to stick at it - every day - and in the last two months I've lost a stone and look at least size smaller. I feel amazing. Buy this book and stop putting off your chance to improve your life!
For women, for life, for health, for old, for young, for me
Very nicely laid out, very well explained. I've read this book cover to cover and am impressed by the clear guidance, useful tips, good pictures, and, most especially, the "Making Plans" chapter. If you are pregnant or over 40, there is something here for you. It is nice to finally have some clue as to how much exercise to do, what mixture of exercises to use and I am happy to see the WHY [do it] paragraphs in this book. Motivation is down to you but this book is a good start. Do not expect any quick fixes though, there never are any.
The Title is True to its Word
This book is fab - clear and easy to read and a good source of information for the new - advanced exerciser and is totally aimed at women.
