Customer Reviews
A perfect way to be introduced to Bill Bryson
If you are a fan of the series of Bryson travel books, this is what you want on your xmas list. Bill takes us on a tour of britain that he took when he came here first in 1978. Being both informative and amusing, this is something I watched again and again. The dvd extras are also something you'll want to look at with information on all of Bill's destinations, as well as a stills gallery. And with special guest appearances from Stephen fry, Alexei Sayle and Victoria Wood, it's a great way to visit the more obscure aspects of the country.
Bryson at his Droll Best
If you can stand Bill's monotonous delivery, this series encapsulates what he loves about this land. His dry, whitty and informative exploration of the UK is especially poignant to those of us who have moved away from our birth place. Great viewing.
Great Read
Like all Bill Bryson books I could not put it down. I like the opening. I can see people I know in the descriptions
