Product Description

It is Jack's, Megan's son, first birthday party and the atmosphere is very tense. But Megan is being distracted by the unusual amount of telephone calls that her mother is getting. Surely Mum hasn't got a boyfriend has she? But it turns out that she has - and what is more, he is moving in. This really shakes up the dynamics of the house-hold, which Mary Hooper details with her accustomed very accurate and precise eye for domestic detail. A must for all Megan fans.

Editorial Reviews

Review
A sharply perceptive novel for teenagers tackling the experience of 15-year-old single motherhood. Like Coronation Street's Sarah, Megan has to cope with restrictions on her social life, and though her mother is understanding, she is no saint. Their domestic situation at times becomes fraught. Megan also has to contend with a rude and critical taxi-driver who blames single mothers for all economic ills and a potential boyfriend who turns out to be interested in Megan only if she agrees to leave her baby, Jack, at home, and come to his house when her parents are away. But the real crisis occurs when Megan's mother allows her lover George to move in with them. Megan and her sister tolerate him at first, but when he slaps Jack there is an uproar. Hard though it is for Megan's mother to reject the offer of companionship and financial security, she ultimately decides that the wellbeing of her daughters and grandson is paramount. This is a book which strongly affirms the primacy and significance of the mother-child bond, and embodies it in a convincing narrative. Megan 3 is thought-provoking but ultimately reassuring novel for teenagers striving to clarify their own values. (Kirkus UK)

This is a amazing book 5
This book is amazing it is really good it is just like a real life situation so touching and real when i read it i had a picture of everything the school the boys meghans friends her mum sister and her baby even her house the book is so well detailed but doesn't drag on for ever about one thing. It is really good but you have to read the other two first (meghan 1 and 2) to get the 3rd one otherwise you will be a bit lost like you would with any other 3rd book. Its not just the story itself its also the way Mary Hooper writes the book she is a brilliant author and i read any book of hers i can find!!!!! i really do recommend this book i hope you will find it as enjoyable as i have.

I'm sad this is the last one!5
I loved this book. It was something rare, in the fact that it frustrated me. In more than one part, I wanted to reach inside the book and help and tell all the characters what was really going on.

This book is about a girl called Megan who has a toddler called Jack. Her Mum starts getting strange phone calls. Then her Mum suddenly has a boyfriend and the family's life is changed. But is George all that he first seems?
