Review
'At the lighter end of the scale, those of you who've been waiting for a new BFF to fill the gaping OC/Dawson's/90210 hole in your lives could do far worse than sign up for an upper east side preppy education in Gossip Girl (March, ITV2). Based on Cecily von Ziegesar's string of novels. It's Cruel Intentions with a noughties Abercrombie sheen - and as it's adapted by Josh Schwartz (the Seth Cohenalike behind The OC), you'd be right to expect a string of zippy one-liners, powerhouse teen bitchiness and a general fascination with the lives of the urban rich' Guardian
About the Author
Cecily von Ziegesar herself attended one of the smart private schools in Manhattan, New York, and, as a result, much contained within the tales told in Gossip Girl rings with great authenticity.

you know you love it
I just couldn't put this book down. I recommend to only buy this if you have already read the other books leading up this to gain maximum enjoyment out of this one.
Don't bother with this.
Anyone who is a fan of Gossip Girl will be seriously disappointed by this book. Ziegesar has herself given up on the series, and no doubt moved on, so a ghostwriter has been hired to fill her shoes. This in itself is a bit of a disappointment, and is made even more irritating by the fact that this ghostwriter is failing miserably.
The writing of this book lacks ALL of Ziegesar's customary cutting wit and flair. There is no sparkle, no semblance of intelligence behind the whimsical prose. It is dull, clumsy and contrived. The characterisation has gone to pot, and these books are being churned out thoughtlessly so the publishers can make their bucks.
This really was a total waste of my money.

This is the tenth installment of GOSSIP GIRL, the wildly popular and very scandalous series with the kind of characters that you know you want to hate but can't. Just because they are who they are!
Serena van der Woodsen, Blair Waldorf, and Nate Archibald are still caught in their never-ending love triangle. Serena and Blair were hanging out at Bailey Winter's house as his "inspiration" until they get fed up with the annoying look alike "Eurotrash" models also staying with Bailey! And guess who happens to live next door???
Nate was working at his Coach's house for "you know what" until he figures out that his Coach's wife has a crush on him! Vanessa walks out of her summer nanny job that she really hates! Dan finds a friend in the new employee at Strand, the hottest bookstore in New York City. They start a "parlor" and things end up getting pretty wild! Some old couples reunite at Serena's eighteenth birthday party, toward the end of the book.
If you're like me and have read the entire GOSSIP GIRL series, then WOULD I LIE TO YOU? definitely makes the whole story just a little bit more twisted. If you decide to read this book, I would advise you to read the books in order, other wise you might get a little confused! And that would totally ruin the first nine books!
