Ever since i saw the movie at the age of 5yrs old i have been fasinated with dragons and was really glad to finally find the book that the film was based upon. i only hope that they bring the film out on dvd soon for clearer viewing. This book is delightful and a great demonstration of dreams and fantasy. a really good read, i highly recomend it.

Dragons exist5
This book is NOT the same as the film. the film is based on the scientific evidence put forward in the book that Dragons do exist.
the book sets out to explain scientifically why it is possible and indeed probable that dragons did exist. with the help of beautiful illustrations and diagrams the author put forward a series of scientific theories as to how an animal so large was able to fly, why and how they breathed fire, why they slept on hoards of gold how they lived ate and bred and why there are no fossils left to show that these creatures did in fact exist. the conclusions are drawn from evidence given in eyewitness accounts. there are even chemical equations to show how the reactions in the Dragons body would have worked.
anyone that once enjoyed the film would enjoy this book, as would anyone with an interest in anatomy, biology and of course Dragons.
this is a beautiful book that proves the existence of these amazing creatures.

A fruitless end to a life long search2
I saw the cartoon when I was just a boy and ever since had made it my mission to find the book of the film I loved so much. Imagine my delight, therefore, when I found the book by Peter Dickinson, here on Amazon.
But this is a warning to all those who are expecting the story, like I was. This is a fascinating book about the myths and legends of dragons and formed the basis of the cartoon. However this is not the story around which the cartoon was based and if you were more fascinated by the story than dragons themselves then unfortunately this is not the book for you
