Synopsis
Join Captain Ahab, an eerily compelling madman, as he pursues an unholy war against a creation as vast, dangerous and unknowable as the sea itself. In his monumanical quest, Ahab focuses his distilled hatred and suffering - and that of generations before him - against one single creation, and pursues it relentlessly.
Customer Reviews
Phew!
I'm still wading through Moby-Dick. You can see almost immediately why it's regarded as a classic, but it takes a lot of dedication to stay with it. Mr Melville is very wordy and the story takes forever to get going - 160 pages in and we finally get on board "The Pequod". It takes another 20-odd pages to meet Cpatain Ahab. Its about 250 pages before a whale is first seen.
It's no holiday read that's for sure, but definitely worth the challange!
