Tremors didn't actually break any new ground (even though its tunneling worm monsters certainly did), but it revved up the classic monster-movie formulas of the 1950s with such energetic enthusiasm and humour that it made everything old seem new again. It's also got a cast full of enjoyable actors who clearly had a lot of fun making the film, and director Ron Underwood strikes just the right balance of comedy and terror as a band of small-town rednecks battles a lot of really nasty-looking giant worms. The special effects are great, the one-liners fly fast and furious between heroes Kevin Bacon and Fred Ward (and yes, that's country star Reba McEntire packin' awesome firepower), and it's all done with the kind of flair one rarely associates with goofy monster flicks like this. --Jeff Shannon

ONLY WATCH THE FIRST FILM
The first film was quirky and enjoyable. I watched the second film and thought it was awful. In fairness 3 + 4 i never bothered to watch.

The original film is set in a hick desert town where both people and animals start to disappear in mysterious circumstances. The cause of the disappearances is uncovered as huge 'worm like' creatures are discovered almost by accident. Attacking from beneath the sand, the ground literally opens to take prey. The creatures hunt by vibration, hence Tremors title, and the only salvation for the few town residents is to reach rocky ground.

The film is serious in some respects but is mixed with humour and is an enjoyable watch.

WORMS
Ignore the gripes, this is a great set. The first film is the best, a b-movie classic. The other films rule too, although they dont pack as much of a visual punch as the first one, as they were low budget, straight to DVD films. Some fans might have liked to have seen the TV series thrown in aswell, but this will do for now.
This is a must buy for all Tremors fans.

NOT the Attack Pack - just the previous releases in a box that says "ATTACK PACK"
I had been waiting for the Region 1 "Tremors Attack Pack" to be released in a nice PAL format. And I ordered this with delight upon release.
For those who don't know, the single disc release of the first film "Tremors" was never released in anamorphic format, just letterbox. Universal Pictures released "Tremors Attack Pack" in Region 1 NTSC a while ago, and this featured a brand new anamorphic transfer of "Tremors" as well as all the sequels.
This Region 2 release of "Tremors Attack Pack" is not a PAL release of the Region 1 NTSC version. This box just contains the previous Region 2 releases with a non-anamorphic "Tremors".
To call this box "Attack Pack" is misleading and a complete rip-off. Universal should be ashamed of themselves for this quick cash-grab. Anyone considering purchasing this DO NOT!!! Buy the Region 1!

The 1 star is for the misleading rip-off box set package.
