Synopsis
Features the films ALIEN, ALIENS, ALIEN 3, ALIEN RESURRECTION, PREDATOR, PREDATOR 2 , and ALIEN VS PREDATOR. In ALIEN, a team of astronauts on their way home stumble upon an alien that has never been seen before. In ALIEN sequel ALIENS, Ripley, a survivor of the spaceship, encounters a deadly extra-terrestrial. After years of hibernation in space, she is reluctantly drawn into a second encounter. In ALIEN 3, Ripley finds herself on Fiorina 161, a penal colony. It is not long before Ripley realises that her doomed escape pod was contaminated with the alien. Now she is imprisoned on a planet where weapons are unavailable. In ALIEN RESURRECTION, Two hundred years after the death of Ellen Ripley and many experiments later, a group of scientists clone her and the parasitic alien. Anxious to test their new weapon, the scientists abduct a crew. Once the alien escapes and takes control of the spacecraft only 'Ripley' and a team of smugglers stand between it and Earth. PREDATOR is set in the remote jungle of a Central American country, where an elite group of commandos embark on a CIA mission to clear out a guerrilla stronghold and rescue the remaining hostages. However, the hunters become the hunted when a highly intelligent, otherwordly being slowly and methodically starts killing off members of the team. Possessing a chameleonlike camouflaging ability and a deadly alien arsenal, the creature tracks down the soldiers one by one. In PREDATOR 2, the Los Angeles police force are fighting a losing battle against the plethora of drug lords and gangs which are roaming the streets. Can the arrival of an alien being change their fortunes? In ALIEN VS PREDATOR, a group of archaeologists find themselves fighting for survival when they discover a number of aliens buried in the ice. Their survival rate is hampered further by the arrival of more aliens on a training mission.

Perfect for those who tire of exhausting extras!!! (:4
After previously owning region 1 editions of Alien Quadrilogy & the Predator Special Editions, I was looking to slim down and get PAL versions of these classic franchises. So if you tire of hours of exhausing extras, but still want the best versions of the movies themselves, then this is the box set for you.

Seven-disc box set features the following:
Disc 1: Alien (1979)/Alien (2003 D/Cut) - DD 5.1 & DTS
Disc 2: Aliens (1986)/Aliens Special Edition - DD 5.1
Disc 3: Alien3 (1992)/Alien3 Extended Cut - DD 5.1
Disc 4: Alien Resurrection (1997)/Alien Resurrection Extended Cut - DD 5.1 & DTS
Disc 5: Predator (1987) - DD 5.1 & DTS
Disc 6: Predator 2 (1990) - DD 5.1 & DTS
Disc 7: AVP: Alien vs Predator (2004)/AVP Extended Unrated Version (incorporates all deleted/extended scenes = 8 mins longer) - DD 5.1 & DTS

The Alien discs are of course Disc 1's from the Alien Quadrilogy set, Predator discs from the 2-disc SE's and AVP taken from the UK 2-disc Definitive Edition which actually features the full extended version.

I definitely recommend this box set if you're not into hours of extras and just want the best versions of the movies. Price not the best though which is why I give it 4 stars.

An excellent box set5
I have to totally disagree with the guy who said this was rubbish just because it has no extras.
Who buys a film for extras?! I don't know about you, but having a half hour documentry on how the catering was created, or 10 shorts on costume design doesn't really get me going. I buy a film for the film.
What you get with this set is the "ultimate editions" of all the Alien films, the "Definitive Edition" of Predator, the "Special Edition" of Predator 2 and the "Extended Version" of AvP.
So, you get the best versions of all 7 films for under 30 quid, wrapped up in really nice artwork. How can anyone possibly complain at that?

There are NO EXTRAS with this compilation- You have been warned!!!!!!!2
Despite being an Alien/ Predator fan long before I was old enough to watch these films, I'd never purchased a VHS let alone a DVD copy of any of the 7 (yes 7!!) Alien and Predator Films.
Why? Simply because they were and always are on Television and that's not counting Sky/Cable TV either.

So when I came across this collection I thought I'd treat myself to the box set, considering it has ALL seven Alien/ Predator films including Alien Vs predator (whatever your take on it, it is not only the highest grossing film in the series for a while (cinema box office takings beating Alien Resurrection and Predator 2 combined give or take inflation) it also revived the series with Aliens Vs Predator 2-Requiem out in Cinemas early 2008 and NO- THIS TIME IT IS GOING TO BE AN 18 CERTIFICATE FILM).

So now I had all seven films, a really compact and snazzy box- complete with a "holographic" 3D effect Alien Head on the front and a similiar effect with a Predator on the back. I pulled out the inner case and found ONLY 7 Discs in 7 disc holders.......

HANG ON???!!! What about the Two Disc Specials- you get with the Alien Quadrilogy and Alien Legacy DVD collections??????
Maybe they've made a special one disc just for the collection?
Nope- the Predator 2 films disc even states "insert Disc 2" for extras-

Um I would if I had a Disc 2!!!

All 20th Century Fox have done is taken a pick and mix of their OLD STOCK of DVDs possibly thrown the 2nd Discs away. And they are demanding a RRP of £60!!!!!
That means you woud be paying £10 per disc. As for AVP you can buy it used (recommended!!!) for less than £3

I immediately sent this DVD collection back to the seller and got a refund stating "incomplete item" (referring to the fact I only get one disc per film)

Instead here is a cheaper and better shopping list- you can buy
Alien Definative Edition (less than £8 new)
Aliens Definative Edition (less than £8 new)
Predator Definative Edition (less than £8 new)
Predator 2 Special Edition is fine (less than £5 new)
Alien Vs Predator- one disc is fine (less than £3 second hand)

As for Alien 3 and Resurrection if you really like these atrocious films get the Alien Legacy and buy The Predator Collection too.

Just don't buy this!!!!!!
