One of the best but..
There is no doubt that this is one of the most powerful and effective anti spyware protection tools out there. In fact I do not believe there is a better.

That said, this version, as every previous version I have tried, seriously slowed down my test machine so much slow that I had to remove it.

Avoid the PC Tools online store and be sure to purchase the boxed retail version. I made the mistake of purchasing a licence online from PC Tools. I later uninstalled the application but twelve months later was informed a new payment had been taken from my debit card to renew the subscription. I attempted to contact PC tools but my emails went unanswered. A year later again attempts were made to take money from me which but this time my enraged emails were answered and the recurring payment cancelled. I never received a refund for the year I did not want.

To sum up: a very powerfull anti spyware defence but it may slow down your PC. Make sure to buy the boxed retail version!

OK for a short while but now just freezes
The scan seems to be thorough and all was well for a time but the program now hangs in a full scan on or after the end. The window just stays permanently fixed on the desktop or if covered with another application retains that image. If one tries to end the application a message comes up saying the application is locked. Looking on the internet this seems to be a not uncommon fault but you would not know it looking at the FAQ's on PC Tools site. I have now removed the program. Intelligent scan ran fine. I have McAffee also so I suspect they might just not get on with eachother.
