Amazon.co.uk Review
With the adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow (memorably portrayed by Johnny Depp) earning legions of fans right across the globe, the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy has proven to be one of the most popular series of films in recent times. Fortunately, there’s good reason too.

The trilogy starts off with the best of the three films. The Curse Of The Black Pearl is a superb piece of blockbuster movie making, delivering lots of laughs, some fabulous set pieces and a core of good, old-fashioned swashbuckling action. With a terrific supporting cast, led by the likes of Geoffrey Rush, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley, its running time simply zips by in a flash, and there’s plenty of incentive to hit the play button again once the credits roll.

The second movie in the series, Dead Man’s Chest was more commercially successful, but it’s not quite as strong a film. Nonetheless, there’s still plenty to enjoy, including Bill Nighy’s stunning Davy Jones (the special effects there are something to behold). And it earns extra bonus points for a terrific final twist in the end reel.

And then we arrive at the closing part of the trilogy, At World’s End. This is arguably the most bloated, with a nigh-on three hour running time, but it does pack a lot in. Multiple Johnny Depps for starters, along with some terrific action too.

While the three parts of the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy may thus be a little uneven, its nonetheless a collection of films with plenty to recommend. The first part sails away with the top honours, but there’s little doubt that all three are set to entertain audiences for many years to come. --Jon Foster

Synopsis
Box set containing all three of the blockbusting and swashbuckling Pirates of the Caribbean series - The Curse of the Black Pearl, Dead Man's Chest and At World's End.

The Curse of the Black Pearl was where the Pirates of the Caribbean phenomenon began. Loosely inspired by the a Disney theme-park ride, it is a swashbuckling high-seas tale starring Johnny Depp as camp Captain Jack Sparrow an eccentric rogue who saves the life of Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), the beautiful daughter of the governor (Jonathan Pryce). This act of bravery sets into motion a sweeping adventure involving Elizabeth's childhood friend, blacksmith Will Turner (Orlando Bloom); a mysterious medallion; and a legendary pirate ship, the Black Pearl. A welcome throwback to Hollywood offerings of yesteryear, filled with rope-swinging heroes, crusty villains, treasure hoards, swift swordplay, and even wittier wordplay, The Curse of the Black Pearlis a nearly flawless family film.

Depp returns to reprise his role in sequel Dead Man's Chest. Reunited with Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), Captain Sparrow must face his greatest adversary yet – the nautically naughty Davey Jones (Bill Nighy). Dead Man's Chest is every bit as exciting as its predecessor and sets the scene for part three in the trilogy, At World's End. This final part of the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy was filmed back to back with Dead Man's Chest and again sees Depp, Knightley and Bloom team up for some swashbuckling action.

Synopsis
Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl: Jack Sparrow (Depp, in an Oscar nominated performance) and Will Turner (Bloom) brave the Caribbean Sea to stop a ship of pirates led by Captain Barbossa (Rush), who intend to break an ancient curse using the blood of the lovely Elizabeth Swann (Knightley)... Pirates Of The Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest: Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) is mortified to discover he owes a blood debt to the legendary Davey Jones, captain of the ghostly Flying Dutchman. With time running out, Jack must find a way out of his debt or else be doomed to eternal damnation. And as if this weren't enough, his problems prompt the cancellation of the wedding plans of a certain Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley), who are forced to join Jack on another maritime misadventure. My favourtie trilogy of all times!5
I loved the Pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy. It had everything, Horror, Comedy, Action and Romance. And the characters were simply brilliant.
The Curse of the Black Pearl
The film is set in and around the Caribbean were a notorious pirate turns up in a small British Port. Soon after the Black Pearl turns up and steals the Governer's Daughter (Keira Knightley). So Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnney Depp) and Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) chase after them.
Dead Man's Chest
This film sees the entrance of Davy Jones (Bill Nighy) and the Flying Dutchman. So as Jack tries to stay one step ahead of the Kraken and the East India Trading Company searching for the Heart of Davy Jones, we see our characters, cross each other, fight each other and keep Jack from Heading to Davy Jones Locker.
At World's End
Elizabeth and Will ask for the help of Tia Dalme and Captain Barbossa to rescue Jack from Davy Jones Locker. Then being able to unite the Brethren Court and make one last stand against the East India Trading Company and Davy Jones. And Sao Feng (Chow-Yung-Fat) along with the other Pirate Lords must stop there arguing long enough to help.
I didnt go out and see the first one straight away but i see it on the telly and loved it. I wondred what making a Disney Ride into a film would be like but I think it turned out fantastic. 10/10!

POTC5
I love all three Pirates and with the box set trilogy it is even easier to buy and saves money. I admit they are a little confusing if you haven't followed the plot from the beginning. But with the box set you can. I gladly give it 5 out of 5. Top Notch

Top class movies in time for Christmas5
Ive noticed that they are plugging the third film At Worlds End on DVD or Blu-Ray on TV more than ever on the build up to Christmas but not a word about a box set such as the one ordered here. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed all the films, did find At Worlds End slightly confusing when watched at the cinema but still never spoilt the enjoyment of it. The box set is a present for her for Christmas from the kids so hope she will enjoy it and buying the box set on Amazon has saved me some time and money. All deserves the 5 star rating in my book!
