Customer Reviews

Quick disappointment1
Having used QB Pro & Payroll 2005, I needed to update to 2008 to continue to get updated Payroll Tax Tables.
Bought this updated version of 2008 on the recommendation of QB only to find unlike its earlier versions (2005 & 2003) it no longer does multi-currency. As a business trading on internationally and considering we are part of the EEC this is pretty poor software design by QB.
DO NOT buy it if you need multi-currency!

Too many bugs1
We also had to purchase to get continued payroll updates and had endless upgrade problems which were never satisfactorily resolved. I have recently had to deal with a monthly paid employee on SMP and QB wrongly calculated the period of SMP due. I have spent hours on the helpline trying to get a resolution and it still isn't solved. This is quite a fundamental error and I have no confidence that the payroll side of the programme is operating correctly.
As a bookkeeper I have used QB for several years now and whilst I have some reservations, I find it quite intuitive for smaller companies. However I think this latest version has been very poorly implemented and tested, and the ommission of the multicurrency feature is shortsighted in the extreme.

No QuickBooks in Europe1
I, too, have problems with 2008, having upgraded from 2006.I only needed an upgrade for payroll. I buy from Europe and the invoices are zero rated. Having previously used the ES VAT code I find I can no longer use this code. 2008 uses an EGS VAT code that is not available with cash VAT accounting systems. I spent 30 minutes on the helpline only to be told that is how the program is designed. Nothing on the box or in the book tells you this. If you buy or sell with Europe don't buy this product.
