A better keyring torch than Maglite Solitaire5
First, a few minor quibbles with the product description on Amazon that I would like to get out of the way, in no particular order:

    1) Did not arrive in a "metal gift box" as advertised, not that I had noticed this before so it did not influence my purchase

    2) Despite the product description, this does not appear to be a "Key Finder" which in my book is a gadget that beeps back when you whistle to it. Again, I didn't think that it was, so no gripes there on my part, just this quibble. Some LED Lenser documentation for the product (the brochure that comes with the torch) calls it a "Key Finder" and some (the box it comes in) calls it a key-ring torch.

Thank you for bearing with me, and now that I have got past the trouble with quibbles...

I bought this to replace my old Maglite Solitaire, and the LED Lenser beam is a *lot* stronger, as you may already have read in other reviews.

The LED torch casing is shorter, but stubbier and heavier courtesy of the 4 GR13 batteries. It looks and feels solid with a decent sized o-ring protecting the battery compartment. I haven't seen any claims for how watertight the torch should be, but it should survive a good soaking.

The on/off switch can be worked easily with one hand, again a better design than the Solitaire where you need to twist the lens cap to turn it on. The Maglite has the advantage of being able to focus the beam, but with this torch you won't need to.

To sum up? A good buy, I'm pleased with it and would buy again it as a present ... or if I mislaid my key ring and couldn't find it again ;-)

    BRILLIANT torch (excuse the pun)...5
What a great little torch. It has just replaced the MagLight Solitaire (single AAA) on my keyring. MUCH brighter and with a stable beam, unlike the flickery / dim light from the Solitaire. Now don't get me wrong - I'm a big MagLight fan & have several of their torches, it's just the Solitaire isn't one of their best products. Go on treat yourself, get a "LED Lenser V2 Key Finder" - you know you want to!

Very powerful little torch but weighty4
I used to use maglight torches and similar ones for use on my keyring but then I moved recently to this. It's LED Lenser's keyring torch design which is a little wider in diameter than your typical maglite but is far brighter than any other keyring torch I've ever used before. Like it's big brother versions, the on/off switch is at the top end of the torch (opposite end to the light). There's no click sound when you switch on/off so theoretically it could go on in your pocket without you knowing although this has never happened to me before. The bulb is a bit odd in the way that it is hidden very far back from the edge of the torch and there is a little 'tunnel' of reflective material. I'm assuming this helps give the torch such a bright light. Unlike the maglite and it's older brother, you can't adjust the focus beam of the light which is a bit of a let down. It's also reasonably weighty torch and is probably sightly heavier than a maglite. All in all it works for me as it's small and very bright but you may want to reconsider if you want a very light torch.
