Customer Reviews
Very Impressed
I can't be bothered to write a full review but there are a couple of points I feel I should make as i'm shocked why the printer has received so many negative reviews.
1. The reason the first set of cartridges run out quickly is because those ones aren't full- this isn't to con you, they make a point of saying in the manual they won't last as long as usual. Apart from which, I was grateful to get free cartridges with it- I went out and bought some before I realised it came with a set. I'll print mainly documents on mine so a bigger black cartridge would have been useful, but then again its designed as a photo printer so I've only got myself to blame.
2. Ok genuine epson ink is fairly expensive (£40 for the set), but if you shop around.. not sure if i can say on here but begins with e, ends in Bay? I got a full set of the genuine stuff for £22. Brand New of course. Not bad huh.
3. This is my biggest gripe- I can't understand why people are disappointed with the build quality. To me the quality is brilliant. The paper receiving tray will move but only if you move it! Remember its only function is to hold the paper once its printed. Most of the printer is glossy black and looks very classy. (think of the playstation 3 and its like that.) The colour screen is clear and the buttons feel quality. Without a doubt the best looking printer out there today- even the model above this doesn't look as good because its got a bulge on the top!
4. To the person that was having trouble scanning- If you try to scan to pc using the printer control panel then it asks for a cable. But if you use the "Epson Scan" program on the pc then it'll work wirelessly. Hope that made sense.
5. The photos I've printed on the supplied glossy paper look stunning. Absolutely exceptional. You won't be disappointed.
I wonder how many people will have read this far down the review? lol I hope its been of help- when I was looking at buying this I was put off by the negative comments, but don't be.
Easy to set up
Bought this printer mainly for the WiFi capability, and past +ve experience of owning an Epson. In my experience setting up anything on a wireless network is always difficult, but in this case the set-up on several computers (hard wired and wireless) was completely effortless (insert the supplied CD, answer a few questions, and it does everything else).
I agree with the other reviewers that the build is a bit flimsy, but not to the extent that carefull use will cause problems.
The print quality and speed are exceptional. The cartridges are quite expensive, and a recent TV review put this printer in third place for cost-per-print. Overall a great printer that does everything it says on the box
Epson Photo PX700W
After reading the reviews this printer sounds like it had problems... OK yes the paper tray is only plastic but you can see it's not designed to hold 500 sheets of paper...
The printer is easy to set up, and its compact design means it can sit on a shelf and you would not need to move it as all the controls and paper tray are at the front.
The Photo prints are first class and with A4 borderless being sharp and colours being bright its ideal for printing photos at home.
If you like to print on your DVDs or CDs this is the printer for you... the loading of the DVDs and the Epson software just make it so easy....
This is well worth 5 stars its gives great results and with its ease of use its a photo printer that great for home use and with network and wireless... it`s the icing on the cake
