CD Description
Acclaimed singer Alison Moyet marks her incredible three-decade spanning career with the release of The Best Of: 25 Years Revisited. This deluxe 2CD version of the album contains 11 brand new interpretations of Alison’s favourite songs from her back catalogue recorded with her current live band. The Best Of Alison Moyet is a true reflection of the extraordinary music produced by Alison Moyet over the last 25 years and a testament to the diversity of her talents. The songs included on the album form a definitive representation of her stunning and vivacious vocal style and range, from subtle blues and bombastic soul to big pop chart hits. The Top 10 singles "All Cried Out", "Love Resurrection", "Invisible" and "Is This Love" are all included on this 20 track anthology, as are the heartbreakingly honest ballad "This House" and the modern soul of "Hoodoo". Timeless cover versions of "That Ole Devil Called Love" and "Love Letters", which both cracked the Top 5 upon release in 1985 and 1987 respectively, and "Windmills Of Your Mind" and "Almost Blue" from 2004’s Voice album, perfectly demonstrate the smoky range of Alison’s blues vocals, are all included on this comprehensive collection of solo work.

A great celebration of 25 year in the Business
This was a surprise release for me along with the tour! But can honestly say what a great release, the 2nd disc adds something unique that never really happens with greatest hits. A lot of the older tracks are redone as Alison would have liked to have record them, but with a feel of how they now fit into her live set and style.
Top marks to Sony too....they saw sense and had Alison involved in this great release (after years of poor support of her!!!). Her voice is fab as ever, but for those who prefer the originals of the older hits you can listen to disc 1. If anything the remasters of the tracks are much clearer than the originals. As Alison says in the notes of the cd sleeve, many of more recent tracks (Should I Feel that its Over, More, One More Time) etc will hopefully make new fans venture to the 'mother' albums like Hometime, Voice or The Turn. Many great Alison tracks exist on these albums and should not be missed.
Great job Alison...whens the next studio album!!
Have a listen!
I think this album reminds everyone that the limelight shirking Alison Moyet is the best female vocalist the UK has had in 25 years. Makes X Factor look rather stupid!
There's only one Alison Moyet
There is only one Alison Moyet, no other singer sounds like her, the voice is unmistakable. CD one covers all the well known songs that she has sung over the years while CD two has reinterpretations of some of her best known songs plus a few others for good measure. This is a welcome look back at Alison's 25 years in the business and I hope she carries on for another 25.
