Outstanding an up to date
The problem with making a guide for the whole country is that is impossible to include all the information you need in one book ( otherwise it will be very big)
Italy needs a guide for each region as the culture ,cuisine and art changes greatly from place to place.
This guide covers mostly the main cities and the most important attractions but detail is lost when exploring the country side.
I prefer to have a lot of detail information about an specific place ( what is the best restaurant in village X ) and local tips.
The road map is accurate and the price list is sadly up to date.
Flavours of Italy
I think that this series of DK travel info books are just great for wetting your appetite. There are lots of very good illustrations and many topics are covered. An ideal starting book for further research for the serious traveller and happy traveller alike.
It's a MUST....
It is my favourite travel guide. You can find tons of useful information complemented with great pictures and maps. Most of the recommended walks are really worth it. I'd fully recommended it to anyone who loves travelling.
