Warning: Finger Injuries Ahoy!
Firstly, I think anyone reading should know that you get a 12-track CD with this book. A brilliant CD of a dozen artists (including Pierre) playing tunes transcribed in the book. I would personally have paid full price for the CD on its own.
Now, as a newcomer to this tuning I was awed to see how versatile it is. The possibilities for a guitarist are mind-bending. It may involve relearning (or "recalibrating", as Pierre says) your fretboard but, with the book as a guide, you are able to move swiftly.
DADGAD enjoys prominence largely in folk circles where it makes a fine accompaniment to fiddles and pipes, but don't be put of if you're not a folk-fan. Jimmy Page wrote Kasmir in this tuning. As I said, it's very, very versatile.
In a rut in your playing? Give this a go. It could be just the break you need.
