Electrifying!
I first came across Antonio Forcione as support act to the Jools Holland Big Band. The evening was remarkable in that the support act was superior by far. Forcione is a gifted and inventive guitarist who plays the whole instrument - not just the strings! His acoustic guitar became a whole orchestra of percussion instruments. But above all, the flawless technique and passion of his playing captivated the audience.

Immediately I rushed out to buy Acoustic Revenge, still his best recorded effort (haven't yet tried the live one, though I'd imagine it's the only way to capture the true genius of the man.) The 8 tracks here represent a broad sweep of styles, from gypsy-style ballads, through the pyrotechnics of the title track, broad swathes of sassy, jazzy improvisations, outright funk and neo-flamenco classical.

I never tire of listening to Forcione and recommend anyone to try out this unsung guitar hero!

Excellent, if you like guitar music
I first heard of Antonio Forcione on Ned Sherin's Loose Ends programme on Radio 4, where he was playing Heart Beat from the album Acoustic Revenge. I was so captivated with the sounds he was able to coax from a simple guitar that I had to buy the album. It must be said that this track is the best from the album and one should perhaps listen to the whole album before making a decision on the basis of one track - nevertheless I found it excellent mood music.
