Customer Reviews
Is this album what you think it is?
This album is quite a change from the early albums released from the Cherry Poppin' Daddies. Whether you will enjoy this album depends on whether you are looking for a album of purely swing music (like Zoot Suit Riot) or whether a more experimental album is up your street. Having said this, the album contains some tracks which opitimize the Daddies' trademark sound - "Swinging with Tiger Woods" is as swinging as it gets and i love it - i would buy this album just for this song. Other songs which are in a similar vein are "Stay, Dont Just Stay" and "So Long Toots" - also great songs in my opinion. "God is A Spider" is like a third-wave ska-punk song which are two-a-penny. I also don't rate "Irish Whiskey" which i would say is almost an attempt at metal. In conclusion, I know bands should expand their musical repetoire, but i would prefer if the Cherry Poppin' Daddies stuck to what they did best and produced more swing songs on this album - the ska and metal should be left to the bands who do it so well.
