An excellent read..More please!!
This has to be one of the best books I've read in quite a while. His take on office life is something I can relate to - I used to work for an insurance company, though minus the cubicles the poor souls have to work in thank god! The characters are well written and it makes you wonder how many people close to home have influenced his writing.
Cynical and hilarious, I'd recommend it to anyone.
Funny gags strung together
Basically this book is a load of very funny gags and observations strung together into a story that is pretty thin that just fizzles out. There are parts of this book that make you laugh out loud but overall the story says nothing and about half way through it becomes apparent that there is not much in the way of plot. At the end everything just seems to be sewn up within 2-3 pages without much thought.
Quirky, interesting, humorous
unexpected from the first page, this little tale starts nowhere, ends nowhere but does it with a crass and knockabout style which makes it hugely enjoyable. The observations are crisp and the imagery vivid. There are flat points, and you have to relax into the world to avoid fighting the plausibility of the characters, however, this is not the point. Amusing, clever in places and overall a good read.
