Simply the Best5
Her best ever. I find her earlier stuff alot more gripping then some of her latest. You cant help but fall a little in love with all her men. James, Tony, Angel, Philip need i go on.

Poor, but fortunately she's written others better2
I was most disappointed by this book. Probably most of that disappointment can be explained by the fact the book is very old (and comes across as old-fashioned). Fortunately she got better after this book!

I had some problems with the basic premise of the book - Englishman kidnaps Englishwoman in Egypt and forces her to become his mistress...

The style seemed short and jerky without full characterisation. I got bored of her saying "I hate you" to him, and it appeared the only reason her liked her was because she was beautiful.

There are shedloads of better books of this genre out there, don't waste your money on this one.

You can tell this is an early one......!3
Well, as a Johanna Lindsey addict, I carried on with this book even though my greater instincts were telling me not to waste my time. I'm glad I did. The writing in the first third of the book was poor and the characters didn't seem to be too believable (Christina is extremely annoying). However, it would appear that JL got going and settled into this more as the story progressed and it actually got quite gripping towards the end. Not her usual standard, but this book was written 20 odd years ago. She's gotten a lot better since this book. If you're new to JL's books, don't pick this one as you might not read another. 'Silver Angel' is on the same lines as this and is much better. Or try one of her wonderful Malory books; they're great, really addictive.
