Home is "Where the Heart Is"
I haven't read this book myself, but my son read it after seeing the movie. He says that the book is much better than the movie, and also that the book seems to be somewhat more realistic in places. He loves the description of Sister Husband as a little woman with blue hair and no eyebrows, and would love to live in a town exactly like the fictional Sequoyah, Oklahoma. I recommend this book highly and Billie Letts should be very proud of herself.
An inspiring story told with tremendous heart
"Where the Heart Is," is an amazing story that expresses the beauty in survival. Billie Letts incorporates amazing characters that personalize, and indeed influence the story. I have since not read a book more true to life, and merely living. Billie Letts stresses her characters place and importance in the story, and exposes the realness in life. I would recomend "Where the Heart Is" to anyone looking for a heart felt story, that focuses on living day-to-day, and magnifies those people around us that influence us the most. This was truly a story of hope, and one that I will not forget!
An excellant and inspiring read!
I read this book after hearing about the film, and i found it to be a great and inspiring read. The main character Novelee offers strength and courage as she over comes the problems in her life. With the help of caring friends is able to achieve goal she thought never possible. I would recommned this book to everyone>
