Amazon.co.uk Review
Some doctoral candidate is doubtless hard at work as you read this, trying to explain why and how the serial killer suddenly became every thriller writer's favourite subject. Meanwhile, the irrepressible Tami Hoag shows us in her latest sure-to-be-a-best-seller how the theme should be handled--with sensitivity, wit, and enough energy to heat a small city.

A monster known as the Cremator is killing prostitutes in Minneapolis parks and setting their bodies on fire. When one of his victims turns out to be the daughter of a local millionaire, and a homeless teenager claims to have witnessed the burning, it brings together former FBI agent Kate Conlan (now working as a victim-witness advocate) and the Bureau's top serial-killer profiler, John Quinn. Conlan and Quinn share a painful personal history; now they have to work together against a very smart lunatic who seems to be able to read their minds.

Although none of this is actually groundbreaking material, Hoag leaps into her story as if she were the very first writer to have thought of it. And guess what? Her innocence and verve are contagious. We throw scepticism to the winds and gladly go along for the thrilling and romantic ride, just as we did in other Hoag hits (Cry Wolf, Dark Paradise, Guilty As Sin). --Dick Adler

Synopsis
Kate Conlan, ex FBI agent, finds herself protecting a teenage runaway from a serial killer who burns women alive...Known as the Cremator, the serial killer has already claimed three victims, and there's only one witness, who's not talking. Kate Conlan can't tell if she's working with a reluctant witness, a potential victim, or something more sinister still. As she battles with demons of her own, and amidst the frenzy of media attention, Kate finds herself on the trail of the Cremator. She's got what it takes to stop him. And he wants her alone...

Customer Reviews

I love her books5
I've read quite a few Tami Hoag books, and have yet to read one that ddin't enthrall me from start to finish. I am currently reading the sort-of sequel Dust to Dust featuring Kovak and Liska and find it unputdownable. Night Sins and Guilty as Sin were the first of her books I read, and the way the situations twist and turn is mesmerising. A damn good read if you enjoy serial killer novels.

The best book i've read... well... ever5
This book had me gripped like no other has ever managed to do. It has in fact inspired me to write a crime novel of my own. I found myself wanting to jump right in and take part, i was actually questioning "who dunnit" out loud to myself whilst reading it. I haven't read anything else of Tami Hoags but this book has made me a fan. It's the only book to have kept me busy for hours on end just to find out what happens. Tami Hoag mas written it beautifully with so many twists, amazing read.

Marvellous, Brilliant!5
Yes. You've guessed - I like it! Having recently read Night Sins and Guilty as Sin by the same author, I had some idea of what to expect from her. She didn't let me down. A great read, with the suspense kept up until the finish. Whatever you do, don't cheat and peek at the end!! Is Dust to Dust a sequel, or a prequel? or not related - can anyone tell me?
