An Excellent Book to Finish the Series5
This is the final chapter in the Wright family story. Derek Wright is a charming and handsome rancher in Montana who has the reputation of an international playboy.

Dr. Lily Monroe is a vet and recent widow of Derek's partner, Sean. She loves her animals and the ranch but is at a point in her life where she is wondering if she needs a change of direction. Since her husband's death, she has learned some disturbing facts about the man she married and nursed through a terminal illness.

Derek saw Lily first but when she ran from him into Sean' arms, he appeared to be pleased for the couple and was even Sean's Best Man. Now that he is gone, however, he plans to get Lily back for himself.

The main part of the story takes place during Alaska's Iditarod race - a grueling race for mushers and dogs. Lily has entered many times but has never won and is determined to do so. Derek has won the race and is determined to win again, but it's not the race he has his heart set on.

Of course, this story would not be complete if T-FLAC didn't call on Derek's services during the race and it is at this point that there is something more important to Derek than winning a race - staying alive and keeping Lily safe.

The story kept me hooked from beginnig to end and I couldn't read it fast enough. I could almost feel the intense cold and shared Lily's excitement, fear and fatigue not to mention Derek's frustration. There are also some really humourous moments and Lily's sense of humour and sarcasm had me smiling. I think I might have fallen in love with some of the dogs too - especially Dingbat!! All in all, it's a fantastic story to end the series.
