Customer Reviews
Apprension at first - joy at the end.
I am an older reader and I consider myself to be more mature (no boasting here :) ) and I prefer older fiction despite being 16 (such as Lord of the Rings, Romance of the Three Kingdoms etc) and so after buying this book, it was on my shelf for a while not doing very much.
Then i decided to pick it up and read it, I was a bit apprehensive at first seeing as this looked like a book for children (well it is) but was pleasantly surprised.
This book is engrossing, funny and witty, I recall a certain smirk on face at many points in this book.
I suggest you read this book, even if you buy it for your kids, make sure you get a read too ;)
Good book, but what happened to the polar bear?!!!
lol. i read this book n fair play to it it tries hard to be a good childrens book, which it achieves hands down. but u mite not want to have read a lot of fantasy books before this cos it nicks so much stuff from other books! its also a bit unbelievable how this normal girl, Abby, lives in a normal world, and when her world is turned upside down she takes it all in her stride. i mean, come on! this girl is about 11, n she suddenly discovers shes livin in a world of witches n utha magical stuff, and she just accepts it so easily!! also theres a polar bear whos rescued at the end, and after Spike (excellent character btw, my fave) tells it everythings ok, it disappears! more from the polar bear in the sequel please! lol! anyway despite the polar bear, and the unbelievableness (is tha a word? oh well) and the acts of thievery, its a very good read and recommended 4 ppl about 8 n up! a good read... yeh.. a good read indeed ..*continues rambling 4 a bit*..
danielle, 12 n WELSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A great escape for all ages!!!
I just finished reading The Witch Trade, by Michael Molloy, and am happy to say that I thought it was wonderful. I loved the characters and found myself transported into the enchanted world of the Light and Dark Witches. With all that is going on in the world today,it's a welcome distraction to read a book with a happy ending.
