Top Trumps has been played since the 1970s when the first packs took the playgrounds of the UK by storm. And its success is partly due to how easy and compelling it is to play: shuffle and deal all the cards face down. Each player takes their cards and holds them so that they can see the top card only. The player to the dealer's left starts by reading out a selected statistic (e.g. Weight). The other players then read out the same statistic from their own top cards. The player with the best or highest value wins and places all the top cards including their own to the bottom of their own pile. It is then that player's turn to choose a statistic from the next card. If two or more cards share the top value or data is unavailable for that statistic, then all the top cards are placed in the middle and the same player chooses from the next card. The winner of that hand takes all the cards from the middle as well. The person with all the cards at the end is the winner, easy.

Perfect Piratey Fun!
As far as Top Trumps go, this pack is fantastic! There are all your favourite characters (of course), mainly from the 2nd movie, but there are a few familiar faces from the 1st as well. Top Trumps are always great for a rainy day or a boring moment, and as Pirates of the Carribean mania sweeps the nation once more, this special edition pack is just as much fun, if not more, than all the others. The joy of these cards is also that you can plan with any number of players (with 2 the game tends to go on for ages, with tons, a couple tend to be out straight away!) So any fans of Jack Sparrow (my personal favourite, along with most of the country!), Will Turner, Elizabeth Swann, and the movies in general will not be disappointed. (Except maybe with Captain Jack Sparrow's "Piracy" score rating 2 points below that of Captain Barbossa - what were they thinking?!)
