Books I have Read This Year So Far... 2005
The Wind-up Bird ChronicleThe Wind-up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami
Buy new: £6.26 / Used from: £3.30
A christmas present. After reading his "Norwegian Wood" last year I just HAD to investigate. A stunning and surreal book.
I Capture the Castle (Vintage Classics)I Capture the Castle (Vintage Classics) by Dodie Smith
Buy new: £5.96 / Used from: £0.01
A beautiful book with a likeable protagonist. Makes you want to write.
South of the Border, West of the SunSouth of the Border, West of the Sun by Haruki Murakami
Buy new: £5.07 / Used from: £2.15
Again, satisfying my new-found murakami addiction. Not as weird as his other stuff but just as beautiful
Villa IncognitoVilla Incognito by Tom Robbins
Buy new: £6.08 / Used from: £3.47
Robbins is one of my favourites and he really delivers again. Almost as good as "Fierce Invalids Home from Hot Climates"
The Crow RoadThe Crow Road by Iain Banks
Buy new: £5.35 / Used from: £0.01
I had been meaning to read this for years. You don't realise until you are half way through how involved you are. A really good read. Down to earth and charming.
Dylan Thomas: a new lifeDylan Thomas: a new life by Andrew Lycett
Buy new: £7.65 / Used from: £4.89
My only attempt at non-fiction so far in 2005. Not overly familiar with Thomas's work, I still found it an involving read.
