	The Lord of the Rings (BBC Radio Collection) by J. R. R. Tolkien Buy used from: £8.99 I prefer this BBC radio version to the film, more scary in parts, less removed from the books. Makes good use of Tolkiens original prose, via a Narration
	Northern Lights (His Dark Materials 10th Anniversary Editions) by Philip Pullman Buy used from: £11.99 Another good starting point for the young reader, the first of Pullmans trillogy featuring rebbellion against God, dark Northern lands, Witches, etc
