	The Woman in White (Penguin Summer Classics) by Wilkie Collins Buy new: £2.35 / Used from: £0.33 A stunning and grippingVictorian Era mystery Thriller by Wilkie Collins. I also recommend reading the moonstone by the same author.
	To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee Buy new: £3.94 / Used from: £1.87 Stunning book, stunning film. Poignant and moving book on the stupidity and unjustness of racism.
	Holes by Louis Sachar Buy new: £1.05 / Used from: £0.01 I can only describe this as a shawshank redemption but set amongst teens. A great read. There is no lake in camp green lake.
	Small Steps by Louis Sachar Buy new: £1.05 / Used from: £0.56 I'm a huge fan of Louis Sachar, despite being in my mid 20's. A superb spin off story from Holes (see above book).
	There's a Boy in the Girls' Bathroom by Louis Sachar Buy used from: £0.01 This book and small steps are my favourite Louis Sachar books, but you should really read them all. Superb.
	I am the Messenger by Markus Zusak Buy new: £4.55 / Used from: £3.92 I don't usually buy a book without it getting a good review, but this one caught my eye on the shelf. I wasn't disapointed. Wonderfully uplifting and one of my favourite books.
	Lord of the Flies by William Golding Buy new: £4.70 / Used from: £0.49 strip away law and order and a moral framework, and look what can happen. This book powerfully illustrates how low humans can descend.
	Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus: The Classic Guide to Understanding the Opposite Sex by John Gray Buy used from: £0.33 An eye opener. Please read this book before dating or marriage. It will improve your life. You can't say that about many books. I think you can with this one & most of the others on my list!
	The Turn of the Screw (Penguin Popular Classics) by Henry James Buy new: £1.80 / Used from: £0.01 I just remembered this book and i have to include it. Brimming with agonising suspence and fear of the unknown. This is the best example i can give of a near perfect horror/mystery book.
