The life story of Anne Frank, from her early happy childhood in Frankfurt, growing up in Amsterdam, her two years in hiding and the last few months of her life in the concentration camps. Narrated in six clearly written chapters, this biography for children answers the many detailed questions about Anne that readers of the Diary often have, and includes interesting anecdotes from friends who survived her. There is an Historical Note at the beginning of the book and a map of Europe, so that children will be able to understand the situation at the time, and an Introduction by Anne Frank's cousin, Buddy Elias.

A truly moving book of Anne Frank's family and her life
I would recommend this book to any girls or teenagers who are interested in Anne Frank or the second world war. It is a good idea to read this book before starting to read the diary; as it gives a good description of Anne Frank's life before moving into hiding, her friends and her family. Anne was obviously a real flirt, and at times I laughed out loud at the things she did! But at others I almost cried to hear what happened in Anne Frank's life and other jewish childrens' when they moved to concentration camps. You can really sense what it would of been like before moving into the annexe, and then what kind of atmosphere there would of been in it. It also describes exactly what happened when the nazis found Anne and her family, and what it would of been like in the concentration camps. It is very moving to hear how Margot dies and what people really went through in the war, and shows how cruel the nazis really were.
A wonderfully sad tale, and yet a good one, to anyone who's never felt safe or has ever wondered about how life must of been for poor Anne during the second world war.
An excellent, informative book about the life of Anne Frank
I highly recommend this book to anyone who would like to know more about WW2. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the unknown facts about Anne Frank - possibly one of the bravest girls known. Discover how she lived in hiding, what little white lies she told and look upon the character in different ways, when reading quotes from people of what they thought this historical figure was like.
There are numerous paes in the centre of the book with pictures of Anne and her family. I found this extremely intresting. This book helped me a lot when I had to study WW2 and Jews at school. This is a brilliant book to pick up and read if you need any info on Anne Frank.
